This case was the first one I filed. My court date was on Friday, April 20, 2001. The defendent never showed up, thus after proving I served them notice (by showing the return receipt from the US Postal Service), the judge ruled in my favor.
Being my little ol' self-righteous self, I said to the judge, "I believe the majority of people in this state support this law and thus their violation of it is an affront to the collective opinion of everyone in this state."
The judge replied, "I agree."
